We love Nathan & Selby's Rustic wedding featuring a horse and cart, stables and much, much more. We caught up with the couple to hear about the inspiration behind their day.
How did you guys meet?
My brother invited Nathan on our family camping trip, neither of us were interested at first but then we got talking afterwards. Fast forward 594 days and Nath was down on one knee proposing in the snow!
What was the style of your wedding?
Very rustic! I’m very much a country girl and always wanted a farm style wedding.
What inspired you to purchase Peggy and Finn products for your wedding day?
I’d seen Peggy and Finn pop up so many times looking for inspiration for the groom and groomsmen. Given the rusty colour of the guys jackets it wasn’t an easy task finding ties that matched but as soon as I saw the banksia tie it was perfect.
Any special comments on the Groom & Groomsmen attire?
It was so unique! The orange rust colour was definitely a theme throughout the day and the ties bought everything together in my vision. Nathan also had custom RM Williams boots and belt to match. Akubras on all the guys made a feature during photos.
Tell us what was unique about your day?
Does covid count haha? Besides from the timing, our venue was a huge hit! One of the cats that live on the property was lazing in the sun right in the middle of the isle seconds before I walked down. We also had Clydesdale horses in the stables during the ceremony and entered into our reception via horse and carriage.
What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?
This is the hardest question! After the ceremony and family photos Nathan and I snuck back around to our signing table in the barn right behind where we got married. We both had a beer each and sat behind the table looking out at where all of our guests were sitting moments ago. No one else in sight, it was a peaceful and reflective moment in a whirlwind of a day.
Words of wisdom, What advice would you give to other couples who are planning their
wedding day?
Oh yikes, stay calm!! *where possible* I thought I had everything under control and everything was running smoothly but nothing is ever going to go perfect. Things aren’t going to go to plan, you’re going to have to keep calm and make adjustments as you go. Creating a budget and clearly communicating all of our decisions to each other was a huge part of our planning process.
Tell us who was part of your tribe:
Nathan had his two cousins Jesse and Jared and my brother Liam. I had two of my best friends Rosie and Jessie and my cousin Flyn.
We also had our Mates of Honour Ash and Jemimah who were our witnesses and a huge part of our day.
