A Family Farm Wedding

Posted by Agile Collaborator on

We caught up with Bridey & Jack to get the details on how they squeezed their wedding in just before lockdown. Their family farm wedding is swoon worthy!

How did you guys meet?

We’re a tinder success story! Our first date was at Odyssey Brewery (now known as “The Hop Inn”) for a dark ale.

What was the style of your wedding?

We had a country style wedding on my family farm in Ceres and the reception was held in our old, rustic barn.

What inspired you to purchase Peggy and Finn products for your wedding day?

The bow tie colour scheme perfectly accommodated our theme.

Any special comments on the Groom & Groomsmen attire?

They were all comfy and looked spunky as- especially my husband! 😍

Tell us what was unique about your day?

I think the fact that there’d never been a wedding held on our property before made for unique photos. Also, it was the very last day that weddings were allowed, the following day it was announced that they were banned due to COVID-19. We were extremely lucky because I know a lot of couples sadly missed out.

What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?

Our favourite moment by far, was our ceremony in front of the big peppercorn tree. We absolutely loved sharing our vowels! We both had tears and couldn’t stop giggling.

Words of wisdom, What advice would you give to other couples who are planning their wedding day?

As soon as you get engaged, start locking down the big things- photographer, videographer, makeup artist etc so that you get to enjoy the rest of the process of wedding planning- it’s a big job but so fun!

Tell us who was part of your tribe:

Bridesmaids: Gem Henderson (Made of Honour and my sister), Lucy Galliker, Grace Cleave and Kirsty Darrington.

Groomspeeps: Luke Paolini (best man), Lauren Sells (groomsgirl and sister of Jack), Josh Strumpel and Dean Kennedy.

Ceremony venue / location: Bakken Thyme Ceres Barn which is on my family property but we are now promoting it as a wedding venue after ours was such a success so feel free to contact me for inquiries!

Celebrant/Officiant: Anita Jenkins. She was amazingly helpful and so lovely!!

Photography: Chris Garbacz. He was unreal and he absolutely captured our vibe to the 9th degree!

Videography: Allure productions. They were so easy to work with. We’re still waiting on our video but we know it’s going to be stunning!

Styling: We did it all together. My dad and his partner, Vera, went above and beyond with the work they did in getting the barn ready! There’s so many people to thank.

Florist: Flare to make you stare. Emma’s flower arrangements throughout the barn, down the isle and for our bouquets etc were stunning and perfect for our country theme!

Hair: Lisa Mitrov. She nailed it!! We were all so happy!

Make Up: I did my own makeup (Makeup by Bridez) My cousin, Shiloh Henderson Makeup did my bridesmaids and they looked beautiful!

The Dress: The Frankie Gown by One Day Bridal

Veil / headwear:  Veil was a “something borrowed” from my now sister in law. Flowers worn in my head were picked from a neighbours tree!

Rings: My engagement ring is by Michael Hill and my wedding ring is by Alexis Russell. Jack’s is from Michael Hill also.

Bridesmaid’s dresses: My bridesmaids and groomsgirl dresses were from Pettal and Pup.

Groomsmen’s suits: Jack’s suit jacket and pants and the boys pants were from Eddy Elias. The boy’s bamboo cotton shirts were from Target!! Boy’s braces from Ebay.

Bow ties / ties: Peggy and Finn

Stationery / Signage: Hand painted signage by Jack’s mum- Wendy Sims.

Entertainment: Luke Biscan (a freaking legend!)

Honeymoon:  We were meant to go to Europe for 2 months, but it got cancelled due to COVID so we pitched a tent in the backyard and totally loved being together in our love bubble no matter what 🖤🖤🖤
